Normal liver contains about five grams of fat in 1000 grams of its weight. Whenever the amount of fat increases more than five percent of the total liver weight, it is called “Fatty Liver”.
Liver is able to regenerate itself. Existence of 20 percent of the liver is enough to survive, but removal of liver from the body, causes death within 24 hours.
Liver produces bile. Bile salts are essential for digestion and absorption of fats and vitamins solved in fats, and the final product bilirubin, are formed in the liver and excreted through bile.| | | Next → |
